Windshield Crack Repair
Using NOVUS® technology, we can repair cracks from 2 to 10 inches and longer!
It’s possible you’ve been told a crack is not repairable. A chip you ignored might have spread, or the damage could have been instant. Whether it’s two or 10 inches long, or somewhere in between, a crack has always been a primary reason to get a windshield replaced.
Cracks, both short and long, can be repaired by filling the damage with a special resin. Our specially trained technicians use industry-leading NOVUS® technology to restore as much of the structural integrity of the windshield as possible.
The priority of a repair is safety first, ensuring that the glass is strong enough to meet or exceed all regulations. With a repair, the windshield’s optical clarity is improved, restoring up to 85% of the original optics.
Windshield crack repair is especially important to consider if your vehicle has advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Sensors and cameras may be close to the windshield, and replacing the windshield could mean recalibration. With a repair, none of the systems will be touched.
There are several factors to think about before a windshield crack repair:
- How long is the crack?
- Is the crack more straight or jagged?
- How old is the crack?
- How long has the crack been exposed to the elements?
Chemicals from car wash soap or outdoor debris can get into the crack, making it more difficult to repair. It is important to get the crack looked at before the damage is too old, to minimize the chance of anything foreign getting in there.
Due to the amount of variables, find your closest branch to get your damage evaluated. Repair can potentially save you time and money on a replacement, but it may not be the right solution for you.
We are proud to offer NOVUS® Windshield Repair services in select branches.
